Encrypted Passive Infrared Technology
This wireless motion detector is an encrypted, passive infrared device that reduces the risk of hacking with its technology. It works by looking for a change in the infrared energy that happens when something enters the area it is monitoring. Our motion detector is a wall-mounted unit with wide-angle motion protection. It communicates with your control panel using a 345 MHz frequency. When it is set to a high sensitivity mode, the PIR has a broad, maximum range of 30 feet deep and 50 ft wide with a 110° spread. The PIR’s pet-immune feature can be set to permit animals up to 55 pounds.
The wireless signal range to the control panel is 350 feet, open air. It is has a suggested mounting at 7.5 feet for best results. The motion detector also has tamper protection. If someone tries to open or break the motion sensor, a built-in tamper mechanism triggers an additional alert to your alarm panel.
